I attempted to watch the Adventure Time promo in Japanese again, once again I got about fifteen seconds in and couldn't take it. It's Paku Romi as Finn, and I just can't. It's not like I plan to watch Adventure Time in Japanese, I barely watch it in English but gih. At least I am not a huge Adventure Time fan because my brain would blow out the top of my skull or something, I 'unno.

Oh for added lulz I should go look up the Japanese dub cast for The Avengers. That will be good for some laughs! I hope that they kept Fujiwara Keiji as Tony Stark just because he is perfect. I'll dick around on Google for a bit and see what I can find.

All this leads in to I went and saw "Snow White & The Huntsman." It was an okay movie, not spectacular by any stretch of the imagination, but it was an enjoyable popcorn flick, not too deep. There was a definite Ghibli touch running through the faerie scene, that amused me. Kristin Stewart did not make me want to stick hot pokers in my eyes, imagine that. I was very surprised to see Ian McShane as the lead dwarf, I had to triple-check that in the credits because I thought I was losing my mind. (And another was Nick Frost! Huh.)

Of course I can't remember the first fifteen or so minutes of the movie because there was a full Bourne Legacy trailer attached to this movie and it caused a BSOD overload of my gray matter. I just, I can't. I can't. I used to make fun of the Bourne movies as America's attempt at a Bond legacy and now I'm actually going to put money into the franchise because Jeremy Renner. Nnghle. I can't. I just can't.

I was going to have thinky thoughts but it is a Sunday, the last day of my vacation before back to the 9-5 grind of reality and my brain is still partially shut down. I think we got a Total Recall trailer too, I honestly don't remember. (Catie has feelings you guys.) Oh man, could you imagine my quandary had Jensen actually gotten the part of Cap? I remember he was in the final runnings before Chris Evans got the part. I would probably just have had to crawl into a hole and die then.

Okay, it's four o'clock, and I have a shit-ton of anime to catch up on before I can get back to my GAM. Plus plotting and writing and shit like that. I think I owe someone some fanart, but I've kinda weaned myself off of tumblr so I'm trying not to get sucked back in.

Ah, June is upon us. Summer blockbuster season is in full swing, I have designs on seeing Snow White & The Huntsman either later today or tomorrow, and I still have MIB3 to see as well. Of course, over the past week I have taken my in-theater viewing count for The Avengers to five - not yet a record for me, I need to see it one more time for that. (I adore that movie probably far more than is healthy, but I view the fandom from a distance. So far.)

Made it back safely from Chicago aboard the Megabus; that was a fun trip. Pictures and/or video may be forthcoming, that depends on how lazy I am. Did both Hancock and Willis (neé Sears) Towers, as well as the Shedd Aquarium and the Field Museum - plus Navy Pier the last night we were there. There is so much to DO in that city, it's so much fun. I would love living in a big city like that; even if just for a little while to get a taste of the experience. But on the other hand, I like where I am at plenty, so.

I got just one "new" souvenir - a black statue of the ibis-headed god Thoth; who is roughly the Egyptian equivalent to Hermes; and whose combined attributes gave us Hermes Trismegistus, author of the Tabula Smaragdina; the Emerald Tablet, which is the root and basis of modern alchemy.

As a direct result of having been gone for a week, no new fanart or fanfic to post; and the anime I had loaded my netbook with would not play due to the fact that my netbook is a bit on the crap-shoot side of things. So I have a lot of anime to catch up on, and some writing to do. My werewolf bigbang will be posted on Friday, look forward to some Roy/Ed one-shot goodness there. (Honest to god. One-shot. Not nightbreed'verse, just... you'll see, I suppose.)

I need to get back in the habit of posting my marathon stats; but I do not feel like it today. Stuff to do later; this weekend is for vegging as the real world enters the equation again on Monday.

I know, I know. I've been doing nothing but tablet-spamming for the past, uh, month. That's mostly because tumblr ate my attention span, torn between that, my big bang fic and my sudden level-up in artistic ability meant I've stopped paying attention to LJ/DW like I used to.

Went up to Cincy this past weekend, my father had an audition for a part in the Ben Kingsley movie that's shooting in Northern Kentucky. It's a tiny tiny tiny role but does have a speaking line, so. (My father might be in a MOVIE dude what.) Came back early under threat of DIRE WINTER WEATHER; turned out we did not even get so much as a snowflake.

I am still stalled on chapter 8 (of ten) on my big bang. So close to the END. Anyone out there want to beta for me? This upcoming weekend is going to be a flurry of work on it; hopefully I will knock out the last 10k of words and start the epic revision process. (Given the fact the fic is due the first week of March, ahhhh.)

That's... pretty much it. Haven't been to the movies in a few weekends, I am SO BEHIND. Started watching Smash, enjoying it; The Walking Dead came back and makes me wince and yet I still watch it. NCIS/NCIS:LA/Justified/The Vampire Diaries/The Secret Circle are all still okay, no big changes of pace there. Supernatural... well, we'll see. I feel I'm still watching out of an obligation to, not because I truly enjoy the show any longer.

I am EPIC BEHIND on all my anime series. I finally caught up on Bakuman; oh god the cute. The squee. WHY ARE TAKAGI AND MIHO SO ADORABLE. I love them. I love Bakuman, considering how badly I hated Death Note this amuses me. I'm all caught up there, I'm only three episodes behind on Beelzebub (when did I start loving this show? I don't know. It's crack only rivaled by Gintama); and I'm working on getting caught up on Bleach. The episodes drag a little but for the first time I have no idea what's going on in Bleach and it's got my attention again, so that's good. Once I'm caught up on those I have about six other series I'm halfway through, then I need to pick back up on my anime marathon of DOOM. I stalled out in the "K's." I hope to be caught up on all my ongoings by the end of March - I do NOT need to lapse another six months lol.

Okay, and since I've wall o'texted about life the universe and everything, here is the (finished) artwork I've completed since last dump:

For [livejournal.com profile] carrole's birthday, we took her to a Reds game last night.

'twas an awesome game. Fiddling with my phone I took a few photos, and realized I can do that awesome panorama shot with it.

Large images!

Pictures! )

We also got a crazy fan who jumped the wall and ran onto the field during the game. It was quite the exciting night!

I feel ashamed every time I see the KFC double down commercial because, one some level, oh my god I want to try one. I'm not a bread lover, so meat and cheese and more meat only equals love in my book. But jeez, it's a heart attack in a paper wrapper. Ahhhhh.

So today I was somewhat productive. I have four garbage bags full of clothes sitting in my hallway to cart off to Goodwill tomorrow, and I cleaned out my dresser and closet. Of course that's only a small amount of cleaning/getting rid of shit that I plan to do to this apartment, but the point is I STARTED, and I have bags of stuff to show for it. I also threw away and entire bag full of hangers, they really aren't kidding those fuckers multiply behind your bag.

I keep thinking it's Sunday. It's not, I have a whole nother day off yay! Tomorrow I think I'll attack the first filing cabinet and some of the Boxes of Shit that reside under my bed, some of which I imagine haven't been rifled through from two moves ago. Ahh, it feels good to get rid of crap that I haven't touched in forever.

I also caught up on Bleach today, ah the filler in the anime is completely over, OMG. I have no idea how long it lasted but it just kinda went WHAM wrapped up OH HAI EVERYONE LOOK THIS IS WHERE WE LEFT OFF. So, uh, yay?

In conclusion: I am sleepy. I allowed myself to sleep in until almost eleven this morning and wasted most of the morning, so. Back to usual sleep-schedule for me. After I see how far Brotherhood has gotten on Adult Swim.

I had the weirdest dream last night that included Stitch, cupcakes without frosting, and Zod. You know, from Superman II. I DON'T KNOW, OKAY. (I also had a dream a few nights back about the 'Charger from Burn Notice. I HAD A DREAM ABOUT THE CAR, NOT ANY OF THE CHARACTERS. Dean, get the hell out of my head OMG. (Yes it was about dismantling it. Underwater, of all things...))

Catie's List of Shit She Needs To Do Today:

Clean computer area, organize bottom two bookshelves.
Take a shower.
Look at the bathroom, laugh at its state, leave it.
Go to Wal-mart.
Go to Toys'R'us. (Other side of town, ugh.)
Go to Lowe's.
Stop by self-serve Car Wash, clean out car.
Home.
Laundry.
Work on cross-stitch.
Finish Basilisk.
WRITE THE TWO DAMN CRACKFICS THAT ARE BOUNCING AROUND MY HEAD LIKE TIGGER ON A SUGAR RUSH.
Maybe revise chapter 5 of Chasing the Sun. Feed to beta (if finished revising).

AT LEAST IT'S PRETTY OUTSIDE.

*scratches back of head* Okay, remember my froth about wondering whether or not I'd have a job come Monday? So, it turns out I'm like the top performer overall for our team. o_O; *is about as surprised as anyone* I figured I was in the bottom with all the shit that's going down. 'Course right now that's no measure of job security, but still.

In other non-real-life related news, I got my new Yamaguchirow Kenshin doujinshi. AU future Kenshin doujinshi. *squishes it* Short-haired Kenshin completely throws me off because ... that's Kennichi, at least, to me. (Well, sans scar.) But still, cute! And the random Saitou with the Hawaiian shirt... that was comedy gold. There's also a megane!Kenshin in there that looked like he stepped out of P4, outfit and all. Can't wait to get a working scanner going, I have more icons to maaaake~

Caught up on the Bleach anime, I've actually gotten to the point where I stopped reading the manga!

...

Holy crap when did I stop reading the manga? I figure I have some serious catching up to do. @____@;;

I also caught up on the Tales of the Abyss anime. Sorry, still want to run Luke headfirst into the wall. Or maybe close his head between the oven doors or something. Maybe I'll like him a little better later on or something, dunno. Kennichi keeps laughing at the whole replica/clone thing; although I can't really say MUCH for his clones. *glares* Okay, well, Kenshin's fine, but Yuukito is a couple sandwiches short of a picnic if you know what I mean.

Got to catch up on Gundam 00 and then I am allll caught up on "current" series that I'm watching; then back to Antique Bakery. After that Arc the Lad is next up in queue, speaking about anime based on video games...

Been keeping up with my 'writing 250 words a day' resolution, but just barely. And I'm not cranking out anything of, dunno, quality. Haven't touched chapter 3 of my Nano to revise it, I really need to. Also need to go back to writing stories, or working on prompts or something. The only upside to my resolution is I've worked a little bit and touched a little bit on stories other than my FMA/Supernatural fushion fics.

The roommates are out, so I'm going to go make some mac'n'cheese and settle in to play P4 before attempting to go to work again tomorrow. Crazy people, are, well, crazy.

Excedrin PM is my newest bestest friend ever.

I have been home for an hour and I still haven't started on my laundry. I WILL DO THAT NOW. MAYBE. Kenshin, come do my laaaaaaaundry. ;__;

So much cleaning to do, but I have most of the day to do it tomorrow! Must pick up supplies for chili dip; then go to the New Year's party. Got a couple of do-able resolutions this year; most of them have to do with getting my act together on a lot of various projects I've let lie.

Um, not much else to report. LAUNDRY. AND STUFF.

My flist seems to have finally slowed down and stopped exploding (holy crap, guys - seriously, four pages in less than an hour? FOUR?)I can post about something other than politics! Glad to have that elephant out of the room- *shot*

*coughs into hand*

At any rate, I intended to make a post earlier and forgot, over the fact that my car was running close to empty and I went to fill it up and it took fourteen dollars. Let me reiterate that for you.

FILLING MY CAR UP COST LESS THAN $15.

Holy shit. If only it would last...

Yay I get paid on Friday. Time for new glasses!

I think I had a dream involving Castiel last night. I dunno, I kept waking up all throughout the night due to stupid jaw pain. Just couldn't get comfortable. Blah.

Yesterday was a day of recooperation. Celebrated Winchester Angst Day by watching a lot of Supernatural, and then Diamonds Are Forever, Live and Let Die and The Man with the Golden Gun. We're well on track to have watched all the Bond movies (excluding Never Say Never Again) before Quantum of Solace is released.

Saturday there was much partying to be had. Rock Band and loudness and Apples to Apples and watching everyone get uproariously drunk and managing not have scalding cider poured on my leg (epic reflexes for the win). Also, [livejournal.com profile] starving4scotch drunk is amazing. She couldn't finish an Iron Man quote correctly, tsk tsk. I won't embarass her right now by quoting her from Saturday, but oh... I SHALL. Later.

Saturday I dressed as Indy, Friday I dressed as Ed.

Uh, I'm around 5k into Nano, huzzah! Bri and Ed don't get along too well, but better than Ed and Raph.

+ clean out car
+ watch "Eye of the Tiger" about seven more times.

Re G00 S2 Ep 3: OMG Allelujah flipped his shit at seeing Lyle and then BLUSHED. PFFFFT. And Lyle also called Tierra something akin to 'a cute little ice princess.' Double PFFFT. Lyle = manwhore.

The new episode of Tales and the new Blade of the Immortal episode both came out last night, but I haven't gotten a chance to sit down and watch them yet. Been kinda busy - built two beds yesterday, then miraculously did NOT die while sleeping on one last night. \o/

We need a squishy comfy chair or something, thou', cause now I can't sit on my bed. x.x

I think that's it. My glasses broke a THIRD time, so next Wednesday is an eye-doctor visit because I really need my prescription so I can order contacts.

Good god my brain has deserted me. Skimming my feeds I saw a headline "Michael Wilson Comments on Chitty Remake" and my first reaction was 'wow, typo.'

*facepalm* They're talking about remaking Chitty Chitty Bang Bang.

In my meager defense, I was expecting another Quantum of Solace report, not anything to do with other projects. Ahhh, brain.

Scored massive amounts of candy today, in the form of Nestle Milk Chocolate bars. Sadly, they're not for me (although I just broke into a bag, heeheehee whoops). I'll have to go buy another bag or two when I get paid, and then they're getting packed up north to my father who goes through constant Nestle deprivation.

You can't get the solid milk chocolate bars in Cincinnati, at all. It's ridiculously rare that he ever gets solid Nestle chocolate, so he's gonna get a surprise package in the mail. Along with the action figure of Dr. Henry Jones I picked up at Wal-mart last week and, upon reflection, went "wtf am I going to DO with this?" RANDOM SEAN CONNERY ACTION FIGURE, WUT.

My dad's going to get this package and be like "WTF?" Hee.

Finished Angel Heart today, actually loved the show to death. I confess I only downloaded it because it's essentially the meaning of my last name, I had no idea it was connected to the City Hunter series. It was cute and endearing, and when that's the description of a show about ex-assassins, well. :D I can definitely see why TPTB choose to cast Jackie Chan in the live action movie, though. I may have to look in to more of the series, old as it may be.

On to Angel Links, and following that, Argentosoma. I think Argentosoma downloaded in dual audio, oh god did the dub of that show break my brain. I had the first DVD aaaaages ago, never saw the rest of the series but I was scarred by the fact that the scary guy with the red goatee was the same dub voice as Kenshin.

He spoke in rhyme or something and it had something to do with Shakespeare... nnngh, that's going to be INTERESTING. Ahh, Japanese audio option how I love thee...

Cross-stitch pics maybe tomorrow, for I am lazy.

Ngggh, was almost late to work this morning 'cause I was too busy watching stuff to pay attention to the time. Failboat Catie is fail.

Blade of the Immortal is still kinda shiny, but the background music occasionally makes me want to stab things. It is shrieking and annoying at some parts, cool at others. The clash is not appreciated by my sleep-addled brain.

Caught up on the Bleach filler; it's heading into the home stretch, huzzah! Gin even said so! Haven't gotten a chance to watch the sub of Diamond Dust Rebellion yet; saving that for tonight.

Gundam Seed Destiny is still amusing. Never change, Gundam Seed. (Except you really COULD have killed off Kira, I'd be happy then. And maybe Shinn, too. Just make the show about Athrun.)

Parents came out to visit yesterday; but my mom called me at 8 in the morning to let me know our cat died last night. He apparently passed in his sleep, which is good ... he was very old, not quite as old as our first cat but he was in more-or-less good health all the way to the end. He was sleeping on my mom and just kinda fell off of her and didn't move again.

I'm not... broken up. It was something we knew was coming, but I think my detachment stems from the fact that I no longer live at home, and I never saw him anyway. When I get a chance to visit my parents, then I will really miss'em.

Been somewhat busy lately. Finally got my phone upgraded; it is now new and sexy. And red. I can has red phone, huzzah! Also came with a bluetooth headset. I am kind of confused by this, but yay! Technology!

My phone plays music. IT IS COOL.

I do not know what to name it. D:

Put in my notice to vacate at the apartment, I have until September 30th to vacate. Whee! I'm probably going to be getting rid of 90% of my furniture, including my bedroom set. Anyone in the area looking for stuff? I've got three dressers, two desks, a full bed frame and a bookcase headboard that will be looking for a home. (Same with the washer & dryer, if I don't hear back from anyone in a few days.)

Also thinking about selling my desktop. I don't use it at ALL, so. I have to think about that more.

[livejournal.com profile] starving4scotch and I are probably going to go up to IKEA in West Chester, Ohio on Sunday to oogle the goods. I'm going to make a list of furniture to save up for. :3 And I'll get to go shopping with my mum. That is always made of awesome.

Finished up Gundam 00 on Tuesday. The ending was full of "uhh..." I'm really glad there's going to be a second season, it started to get really interesting toward the end, all OMGWTF politics aside. Also, dude. The last four episodes were all like "LET'S CULL THE HERD OF CHARACTERS LOL." So much DEATH. Bwha.

At any rate, cross-stitch progress! )

Chuggin' along on that. I started on Gundam Seed, and, uh. That's going to be. INTERESTING.

My muses are beginning to react to the overflow of GUNDAM with deciding that they want to play rock'em sock'em robots with Gundams. Uh, NO. BAD IDEA, GUYS. Edward still wants an x-wing. HALP ME.

ilu, Signal.

In other news, APARTMENT GETTO DAZE. This apartment comes with built-in-bookcases. DO THEY KNOW US OR WHAT? I was not aware that the new apartment came with washer and dryer, I thought it just had the hookups. The good news is, someone from work is looking for a washer and dryer, and will buy them off of me next month for 100$! WAHOO. Now I have to go home and SELL, SELL LIKE THE WIND because I have to come up with 280$ before the end of the month, plus the first half of rent for the new apartment AND my half of rent for my CURRENT apartment.

Uh.

THIS IS GOING TO BE AN INTERESTING MONTH, YES.

Today ... was not as bad as I'd anticipated. We were RIDICULOUSLY in queue when I got to work and... now we're REALLY REALLY DEAD. Which is fine by me, I've been working on my mini-cross-stitch and joking around with coworkers and generally having a good time. I must remember to call my father, because today is his birthday.

I have GOT to do the rest of my laundry tomorrow. I am almost out of clean clothes. Also: sort more shit and actually post stuff to sell. Ebay, craigslist, HERE I COME, YO.

I am not entirely sure how, but the third Mummy movie crept up on me, it comes out on Friday. Since I have that Saturday off, I'm planning on going to the first showing I can get to Friday night. [livejournal.com profile] carrole is along for the ride, anyone else interested?

Yesterday we played more D&D, yay for that. 'twas a lot of fun, especially now that there is at least one more person playing. [livejournal.com profile] pyroh couldn't make it out, and there was woe in that regard, but she works her ass off at her jobs so I certainly understand not making it out.

Then [livejournal.com profile] carrole, [livejournal.com profile] starving4scotch and I hung around, drank more and, well. Gossiped. Mostly about fandom. xD; General entertainment ensued, and I completely distracted [livejournal.com profile] starving4scotch with the bleached-blond Tony in "Execute Progam." (That was FUNNY.)

That's pretty much it. Almost done with Gokusen S3; just the last episode to watch, but it's a 90-minute special. Then on to GTO, and I'll be back into anime. Gun x Sword; and then Gundam for a few weeks straight. Whee~.
