I should not be allowed Photoshop or SAI, I think this much has been made clear.

Oh my goooooooood I am a sluuuuuug.

I keep forgetting that I can't do this anymore, this staying-up-until-1-a.m.-in-the-throes-of-inspiration and then be able to get up at 5:30 a.m. to get to work on time. I nodded off in front of my laptop twice before work, and fortunately Pernelle was quite confused at my behavior and kept trying to eat my hair, otherwise I might not have made it to work on time.

Work is stress, but not the same sort of stress. Our company has been bought by a much bigger one and there is much apprehension to be had by all. This is not a bad thing, in fact it will open new doors and new opportunities, but there is still a general pall of unease as the transition occurs.

I saw several movies over the long weekend, I can cross off "Chronicle", "The Woman in Black", and "This Means War" off my watch list. Non spoiler reviews as follows:

Chronicle - an alternate universe retelling of a Superman origin story. I enjoyed it, the story itself was sadly easily mapped from plot point A to B to C, but you genuinely felt bad for Andrew the entire time. I can't say I wouldn't have dropped his bastard of a father off the side of a bridge somewhere given half the chance myself. The editing, in particular, was incredible - especially the patchwork of security footage, news footage and cell camera footage for the climax.

The Woman in Black - I did a stupid thing and saw a scary movie by myself! Fortunately it was such a heavy, thick Victorian atmosphere that I did not take any of that home with me. The primary draw for me was an atmospheric horror movie, as well as intense curiosity at Daniel Radcliffe's first post-Potter leading role. He seemed too young to be the father of a four-year-old child, and his voice in particular kept taking me out of it at the beginning, but by the end of the movie I had already disconnected the thought. The ending, I don't know know if I liked it or not. I have to say through the latter half of the movie I was methodically chanting "salt and iron, salt and iron, GET SOME SALT AND IRON."

This Means War - I tend to vehemently dislike romantic comedies, but I thoroughly enjoy this. There was overplayed, practically married bromance - complete with manly embraces and utterings of "I love you" completely straight-faced - ridiculous situations, and I actually liked Reese Witherspoon's character. If there were more car chases and explosions in romantic comedies I'd probably like them more. Chris Pike played, essentially, James T Kirk. Tom Hardy's character looked distressingly like Jensen Ackles to me, and thus my mind was elsewhere for a lot of the movie. I enjoyed it quite a bit, and recommend it to anyone looking for some fun fluff.

tl;dr: MOVIES. MOVIES MOVIES MOVIES.

In other news, here is a fanart update:

I FUCKING FINISHED WATERSTONE.

I FUCKING FINISHED IT

Of course there is editing and proofing to do and other technical doodlybobs but OH MY FUCKING GOD DONE DONE DONE DONE DONE DONE DONE DONE DONE.

And now, on to my next bigbang: WEREWOLVES.

I dunno if I'll do au_bigbang this year, but I'm already committed to an epic nightbreed fic, so. We'll see what happens.

I know, I know. I've been doing nothing but tablet-spamming for the past, uh, month. That's mostly because tumblr ate my attention span, torn between that, my big bang fic and my sudden level-up in artistic ability meant I've stopped paying attention to LJ/DW like I used to.

Went up to Cincy this past weekend, my father had an audition for a part in the Ben Kingsley movie that's shooting in Northern Kentucky. It's a tiny tiny tiny role but does have a speaking line, so. (My father might be in a MOVIE dude what.) Came back early under threat of DIRE WINTER WEATHER; turned out we did not even get so much as a snowflake.

I am still stalled on chapter 8 (of ten) on my big bang. So close to the END. Anyone out there want to beta for me? This upcoming weekend is going to be a flurry of work on it; hopefully I will knock out the last 10k of words and start the epic revision process. (Given the fact the fic is due the first week of March, ahhhh.)

That's... pretty much it. Haven't been to the movies in a few weekends, I am SO BEHIND. Started watching Smash, enjoying it; The Walking Dead came back and makes me wince and yet I still watch it. NCIS/NCIS:LA/Justified/The Vampire Diaries/The Secret Circle are all still okay, no big changes of pace there. Supernatural... well, we'll see. I feel I'm still watching out of an obligation to, not because I truly enjoy the show any longer.

I am EPIC BEHIND on all my anime series. I finally caught up on Bakuman; oh god the cute. The squee. WHY ARE TAKAGI AND MIHO SO ADORABLE. I love them. I love Bakuman, considering how badly I hated Death Note this amuses me. I'm all caught up there, I'm only three episodes behind on Beelzebub (when did I start loving this show? I don't know. It's crack only rivaled by Gintama); and I'm working on getting caught up on Bleach. The episodes drag a little but for the first time I have no idea what's going on in Bleach and it's got my attention again, so that's good. Once I'm caught up on those I have about six other series I'm halfway through, then I need to pick back up on my anime marathon of DOOM. I stalled out in the "K's." I hope to be caught up on all my ongoings by the end of March - I do NOT need to lapse another six months lol.

Okay, and since I've wall o'texted about life the universe and everything, here is the (finished) artwork I've completed since last dump:
