Flipping her shit in five, four, three, two...

WHERE IS MY GODDAMNED JINCHUU ARC, JAPAN? FOR FUCK'S SAKE. JINCHUU ARC.

I do not have an appropriately flaily icon, so.

On one hand, OMG FLAIL NEW FMA. On the other hand I REALLY want someone to finish animating Kenshin. The Jinchuu arc REALLY NEEDS TO BE ANIMATED.

It will never happen, but damn it I want that more than anything.

Oh I dunno. Old anime seems to be occasionally revived. I mean, look at Slayers. And Suikoden ONE (one of the earliest RPGS on the Playstation) just got a radio drama. I'll cross my fingers for you, because I'd like more Kenshin too. D:

They would have to get a different voice actor for Saitou though, and that kind of saddens me. The actor seemed like a nice guy, too.

More FMA anime is going to be hard on my brain. I already can't keep the anime they already have separate from the ongoing manga. And since they split off from the manga rather a lot at the end, will they try and follow the manga since then at all or will they just start making up stuff?

Well, the manga for FMA actually had differences from the beginning even if the overall plot still went the same direction. Things with Roze and Corneowhatever at the beginning played out a bit differently, Ed didn't live with Tucker for a long time (He basically showed up the night Tucker already used Nina for experiments), Barry wasn't a cross dresser, There's no filler with Psiren or the Blue rose guy or the Tringhams, more flahsbacks of the kids between Trisha's death and meeting Izumi (showing them self-studying human transmutation).

Add in differences with the homunculi and their lack of a past in the manga and a different puppet-master in the background, and all those little plot line differences are actually important. It's just that the anime stopped lifting scenes directly from the manga after the Devil's Nest bit. (Although Roy's scene with Bradley in the anime definitely took stuff from Roy's scene with Lust in the manga.)

So.. it might be best if you start over with the manga refresh and re-notice how different it actually is.

Oops. I sort of started just babbling. Don't know yet how they're going to do this, but the only logical thing is a more direct adaptation of the manga, and since the manga is on it's final arc from the look of things, there'll be no need to make up another ending since it'll take a looooong time for a new anime to get to what the manga is currently at. The manga should finish before the new anime does.

Most anime adaptations do have some differences like that.

I wonder if the paper cranes thing that Funimation did for another 'Fruits Basket' series worked? They did that quite a while back and I've never heard anything about it.

Also, and correct me if I'm wrong, but is it true that 'Cowboy Bebop' got extra attention in Japan because of it's popularity in the US?

Perhaps we should start a petition if there isn't one already....

I thought it was Ghost in the Shell that initially got extra attention due to US popularity. Ninja Scroll as well--it already had a US license agreement before the anime started so fansubs were shut down ASAP on it.

Maybe with alot of this recent looking at older (and not so old) hits will lead eventually to a proper finish to Kenshin? It looks like some studios are going back to more profitable (or at least marketable) roots lately. Slayers, Trigun, Hellsing Ultimate, now FMA.

Too bad it'll never lead to a new Violinist of Hameln anime...
