Bored. Amused and bored, which is a dangerous combination. Sincerely considering breaking out the typewriter and starting to work on the first chapter of Demonscape, which means Very Bad Things, for I shall be up till three a.m. and likely to be yelled at for making such a racket. But... creative urges...
Just finished watching Treasure Planet, which I throughly enjoyed. I can't understand how the more recent Disney movies have done SO horribly in the box office, because they really aren't half bad. I can see the transparent morals and the things they have to edit to keep Disney safe, but the animation is brilliant and the stories are not bad. I can't understand why more people don't watch them. The whole "animation is kiddy fare" mindset drives me absolutely bonkers.
Today at work really wasn't all that bad. There was a lot less standing around and doing nothing, for, lo and behold, I WAS THE ONLY PERSON IN GARDEN CENTER. Steve was around and always a phone call away for the stuff I don't know, and there was a cashier. I WASN'T THE CASHIER. I got put in charge of Garden Center again. This is terrifying. Since J.C. quit and Ken got fired, there have been severe gaps in the shifts. I'm really glad I'm outside, it gives me an oppurtunity to not be stuck in one place and actually accomplish things while at work. Still, it's such a change. And I feel guilty the days I'm off for not being at work ... I almost can't enjoy them because I don't know what to do with myself. Graugh, I can't wait for school to get back in session even though it will be my busiest semester yet.
I'm about 50 pages away from finishing Shogun, and it's about damn time (my copy is 1200 pages). It's taken me a little over a week and a half to plod through. It's a really, really good book and I highly suggest it to ANYONE who hasn't read it. It seems tedious at first, but it draws you in. Now I'm highly curious about the TV miniseries.
Tomorrow I'll probably plod through some anime -- I keep getting stuck on Kiddy Grade. It's interesting enough that I want to watch it, it's just every time I feel like sitting down to it I get too tired, or I want to write, or something else comes up. The newest Aishiteru ze Baby downloaded, and I grabbed FMA 35 and 36, got those to watch.
I keep picking up cheap DVDs, but that's what happens when you work at a superstore. I found Quest for Camelot in the $5 DVD bin and nearly squealed. I've only seen the movie once, but I adore the soundtrack. And since it's an old school animated movie (aka lots of singing), I couldn't resist. Well, nevermind the fact that I *coughcough* threw it into my parent's grocery cart so _I_ didn't really pay for it anyway ...
And I so completely didn't realize Pierce Brosnan played King Arthur in it. I popped on the "behind the voices" documentary out of curiousity, and first pops up Cary Ewles (which made me boggle), and then Pierce Brosnan.
That means that two out of five Bonds played King Arthur. Huh. Strange trivia. Even more strange... George Lazenby did voice work for the dub of Yu Yu Hakusho? 0_0 Um, wow. I need to stay the hell away from IMDB, it offers me way more info than I need.
Well, tomorrow is Monday. Yay. /sarcasm. # of days until I get a day off? Three. Last day I had off? Monday. Yargh. I think I know why I feel guilty on my days off. BECAUSE I NEVER FUCKING GET ANY. Ah, well. At least I work the 4th, yay holiday pay.
