There is nothing like giving someone a good ass-kicking, even if it's only in a dream.

My urge to write has exploded again, probably because of the new, not-as-crappy-as-the-current-FF.N writing site I found the other day. (Nfiction.com, if you'r curious.) I have an urge to post well-written stories, since the handful that I've idly clicked on were horribly formatted and grammer-wise... *shudders* I wrote five and a half pages of Trillum babble last night ... dunno why I'm always writing that series, I never have cohesive stories for it anyway. Probably something about the Drake/Garyn dynamic.

I finished Icebreaker at work last night, early on, so I had to pick up another book to read. There was a stunning three choices in paperback novel ... one of which I had already bought. I flipped a coin on the other two and ended up with the first novel of the Dark Tower series, the Gunslinger. Now, a long long time ago, I read this book, and I don't remember much about it except the visual image of long, arid, stretches of sand. (Amusingly, that's the same impression I had with the first Star Wars novelization ...) So, this will be an interesting experiment. So what did I think about the Bond book? ... if SUCKED. Majorly. I had the plot twists figured by the third chapter, and what happened to the globe-hopping that used to be so common in Bond books? This book took place in Finland. FINLAND. A tiny, tiny bit of movement into Russia, but just along the border. On top of the fact that I could spot, left and right, writing cliches. Frankly I stand by the fact that I've read better James Bond FANFICS than this load of crap. The guy wrote something like ten, eleven Bond books? Hell, one of them had to not be crappy, law of averages. I'm loathe to find out which one, but I'm morbidly curious.

My strong urge to write is gnawing away at my brain. It's particularly horrible at work, I want to write so badly and can't. My next day off, I'm going to squirrel myself in front of the computer and write as though my life depended on it. I can't work on anything on my computer and transfer it down to this one yet, the floppy drive is still broken. Eventually we'll take it to the computer place to see if they can find the metal piece that is apparently still stuck inside. We were never able to find it. At leat my mom has learned her lesson and won't stick broken disks in the drive anymore. But that means, even if I finish a chapter of Tsukino Namida, I can't post it. *whines* Although I haven't worked on it in a while. *is sheepish* Now that I'm getting inspired, I've been mainly working on original stuff, with a little fandom stuff thrown in. I'm hand-writing a fun 'Gumi story ... it's fun stranding Kennichi in strange cities for no reason. That, and Kitaku/Contingency I've been piddling with ... probably because Phantom reminds me so strongly of Contingency it isn't even funny.

The phone just half-rang. Half-rang. o.0x

11:30-7:30. That shift sucks ass. Not as bad as the 3-11, but I had fun last night. I had like ten people in the five hours I was on register, and then I spent the rest of the time wandering around and straightening the shelves. That was IT. I loved it. It sure as hell beat running a lane ... I doubt there's any way because I'm a "seasonal" worker, but I'd love to actually transfer to a department. It makes the job a hell of a lot less sucky.

I got my first paycheck, w00t. Half of this one and half of the next one and I'll have paid of EKU. *does a happy snoopy dance*

I guess my writing itch also transfers to random babbling, because this entry is a hell of a lot longer than I'd meant it to be. Ah well. Gotta go get my stuff together for work.

Incidently, I absolutely love this icon.
