Series: Bakuman. 3 (バクマン。3)
Episodes: 24
Year: 2012
Animation Studio: J.C. Staff

Official Summary: Moritaka Mashiro and Akito Takagi have come a long way since they started making manga in middle school, but trials still await them as they head towards their goal of getting an anime adaptation for one of their manga. As they continue to grow as artists and as people, they will be faced with new friends, new rivals, and new hurdles to overcome.

Catie's Thoughts: FINALLY. I never thought I would adore this show but somewhere in the beginning of series 2 I got addicted and really wanted to know what happened next. Kind of amazing to me, given that this is the same two people who also did Death Note. There is also a lot of payoff, especially in the later half of this season as things that Mashiro and Takagi have been working for since fifty some-odd episodes before start to come true. It's a wonderful series, and I love how it draws back the curtain and gives you an idea of the trials and tribulations of being a mangaka. (Even if it is extremely idealized, it's still a better idea than what I would have been able to visualize before.) Also, it amazes me that it follows the characters over the course of ten years, and we see one of the two main characters get married - and his wife is a regular character as well! Simple things, really, but fairly uncommon for a show that feels almost shounen-ish in its mindset.

Would I buy it? Yes, I would. All three seasons. I would like to rewatch it eventually as well, because it has been so long since season 1 that I want to see where they came from.
